Rookie Ball/Mosquito/Peewee

Oakridge teams in these divisions will play in a league consisting of teams from Oakridge Baseball, North London Baseball & Ilderton-Lucan Basbeall. This league was created to limit travel for parents and make getting to the diamond more convienient for our families.

Rookie Ball  -  Ages 8 & 9 (Born 2007 & 2008)

A pitching machine is used to provide consistency as skill development continues. Fun, friendship, teamwork and sportsmanship are stressed. Concepts of competition are introduced.
Teams will typically be on the field 2 nights/week (1 games/ 1 practice). We do our best to keep all games and practices during the week (Mon-Fri).

Mosquito - Ages 10 & 11 (Born 2005 & 2006)

Mosquito marks the transition from introductory programs to baseball. The mosquito H/L will incorporate modified baseball rules to allow for better development of pitchers and hitters. Teams are balanced by skill level, and the focus is on fun within a team atmosphere. At mosquito the length of the bases are 60 feet and the pitching rubber is 45 feet from home plate.
