
Cambridge pulls away late for 17-6 victory over London West Tincaps
While the London West Tincaps hung tough on Saturday, Cambridge pulled away late for the 17-6 victory at Richvale #3.
Cambridge easily handled London West pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
Cambridge never trailed after scoring two runs in the third on an error and an RBI single by Windt.
Cambridge increased its lead with four runs in the fifth. A double by Fudge ignited the offense,, scoring Mackey, Obrien and Riley.
Three runs in the bottom of the fifth helped the Tincaps close its deficit to 7-4. A two-run error and a sacrifice fly by Will Bishop sparked London West's rally. But, Mcmann got Carter Bradburn to strike out to end the inning.
London West scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to four. An error fueled the Tincaps comeback. Cambridge stopped the rally after Mcmann got Roman Sawchuk to strike out.
Cambridge added eight more runs in the top of the seventh. Fudge's single got things going, bringing home Smith. That was followed up by Stapleton's double, plating Riley.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the seventh, London West faced just a 17-6 deficit. An RBI single by Will triggered London West Tincaps 2005 10U's comeback. Smith got the last out, being London West Tincaps Camden Sanders.
