
London West musters 5 hits, drops 16-6 contest to Hamilton
London West lost 16-6 to Hamilton on Saturday at Richvale #4, despite a total of five hits.
Hamilton easily handled London West pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
Hamilton never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on a two-run home run by James and two singles.
London West posted one run in each of the first, third and fourth. In the first, the Tincaps scored on a groundout by Roman Sawchuk, plating Lukas Richardson.
Hamilton built upon its lead with five runs in the second. A error scored Markus to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Evan's double, scoring Tristan and William.
Three runs in the bottom of the second helped London West close its deficit to 9-4. An error, a steal of home by Ethan Dawe, and an RBI single by Nate Bennett sparked the Tincap's rally.
Hamilton added three more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Keith doubled, scoring Aidan. That was followed up by Markus' double, plating Jozef and Keith.
One London West run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the fourth, making the score 16-6. A steal of home by Isaac triggered the Tincaps comeback.
