London West Tincaps 2005 can't capture shootout, loses 19-10 to the Strathroy Royals

Ten hits weren't enough for London West Tincaps 2005 as it lost a shootout, 19-10 in five innings, to the Strathroy Royals on Tuesday at York Street.

It was a good day at the plate for London West Tincaps 2005's Roman Sawchuk. Roman went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.


The Strathroy Royals easily handled London West Tincaps 2005 pitching as seven hitters combined for 17 hits, 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

The Strathroy Royals went up for good in the first, scoring three runs on two doubles and a groundout by Curtis Lalich.

The Strathroy Royals piled on six more runs in the bottom of the second. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Dylan Harmsworth to get the Strathroy Royals on the board in the inning.

Four runs in the top of the third helped London West Tincaps 2005 close its deficit to 9-4. An RBI single by Will Bishop, a groundout by Isaac Metron, an RBI double by Cooper Martin, and an RBI double by Roman set off London West Tincaps 2005 rally. Finally, Brett Linker got Lukas Richardson to strike out to end the threat.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, London West Tincaps 2005 faced just a 10-5 deficit. A groundout by Cohen Mizak sparked London West Tincaps 2005's rally. But, Brett got Will to strike out to end the inning.

It didn't take long for the Strathroy Royals to answer as they scored 10 runs of their own in the fourth. The Strathroy Royals scored on an RBI single by Josh McFee, an RBI single by Kaleb Boersma, an RBI single by Dylan, an RBI single by Logan Hackney, an RBI single by Easton Cowan, a bases loaded walk, a two-run single by Noah Williams, and a two-run single by Josh.

Five runs in the top of the fifth helped London West Tincaps 2005 close its deficit to 20-10. An error, an RBI single by Ethan Dawe, a steal of home by Camden Sanders, a walk by Carter Bradburn, and an RBI single by Will gave London West Tincaps 2005 life. But, Josh got Isaac to end the game.
