Tincaps fifth-inning burst enough to top Wyoming in Championship Final
Submitted By Lukas Richardson 2.2 (2020) on Monday, July 25, 2016
A six-run explosion in the fifth inning led London West to a 9-2 win in seven innings over the Wyoming Wranglers at Oakridge Upper on Sunday in the Championship Final of the Oakridge Mosquito Tournament.

Another strong pitching performance by Roman 'Hammer' Sawchuk helped seal the deal.  Roman went 4 1/3 strong innings, giving up one earned run while striking out 5 Wrangler batters.

London West scored in the fifth on a two-run single by Logan V, an RBI single by Ethan D, an RBI single by Nate B, a sacrifice fly by Camden S, and a walk by Isaac M.

The Tincaps were led by Ethan's hitting. Ethan went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs.

London West added two more runs in the top of the sixth. A clutch ground out scored Cohen M to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Roman S's double, plating Cooper M.

This was the third final in three tournaments for the Tincaps this season, winning 2 of 3.  A great showing as we build towards heading to AA OBA's in Burlington in early September.  Another trophy to add to the mantle.  Great work boys.
